The sting of this Scorpio is unforgettably hot...

Ivy Danforth is out from under her Colonel father's overprotective control, and she's making it count. Big time. She's taken the summer off to travel through Australia with her bestie and experiencing all that life has to offer-when you're not under constant military surveillance. She wants to end her summer with some sexy fun, and she has just the hottie in mind.

Seth Rodrigo is ex-Special Forces working undercover and keeping an eye on Ivy as a special favor to her father. All he has to do is not give the game away and reveal who he really is. And especially not give into the hunger that's burning through his careful control...

Then they're forced into protective custody. Alone. Together. For four days. And this time, the Colonel's daughter isn't taking no for an answer...

I received a copy of this book, from the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. In no way did this sway either my review or my rating!

I didn't even look to see what this book was about before I picked it up. I saw the "...by Amy Andrews" after the title and instantly made grabby hands. She has yet to disappoint me in anything I've read by her and now after finishing The Colonel's Daughter, her score with me is currently 6-0. She always makes me fall in love with her brilliant storytelling and even better characters. I'll pick up a book by her every time without question or hesitation and I'm always left with a huge grin and a heart full of feels.

The one thing that I never even thought was something you could be brilliant at, and she just happens to have perfected, is angry/hate sex. Does not sound like something that should be so incredibly hot and sexy but oh my word...it is. She takes two people with insane chemistry and attraction to one another, a couple just filled to the brim with sexual tension. They're having a heated argument and next thing you know crazy, angry sex happens and they're still throwing verbal jabs at one another and it's almost like they've got something to prove to the other one. Except it's way sexier than I just tried to explain obviously.

Chemistry is definitely something that Ivy and Seth have. I loved how noble Seth was and how hard he fought his insane attraction to Ivy. He had secrets from her including who he really was and he didn't want to get into anything without complete honesty. Though with everything that Ivy throws at him even the noblest of men slip sometimes. I loved the push and pull, the will they or won't they. It was a very delicious build up.

The added elements of danger were just the icing on the cake. Granted, parts of it did resolve rather easily in the background while the focus was on while Seth and Ivy were locked away. But not without some bumps and bruises along the way before hand.

The Colonel's daughter was so much fun. I couldn't put it down and whipped through it in one sitting. It was funny, sweet and oh so steamy! Yet again, another perfect example as to why Amy Andrews is one of my favorite go-to authors!

Thanks to Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book!!
