No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

I hadn't really done my research very well when I started these books. Normally I look into them if they're part of a series. Try to figure out how many books there are, and how many of those are already written and published. Mostly because...well...I'm impatient! >.< If I am really into something it's agonizing thinking I may have to wait to find out what's going to happen next. Sometimes I'll read them anyway and then just reread when I get the latest installment. But if it's coming close to a final book I tend to hold off and then dive into everything at once. I had noticed there were 2 others so my brain stupidly told myself, "Hey! Sweet! Trilogy! Go! Go! Go!"

I'm reading Opal and oh so much is going on and I'm in that "book high" zone and it's getting closer and closer to the end and I'm starting to get worried. It doesn't seem like there's going to be enough time to end the series properly. What a disappointment that would be, after falling in love so deeply with these books! I know, I know I'm slightly obsessed :P

I keep trudging on and on.  So many things are happening and it's incredibly stressful.  Everything is riding on the event that takes place in the last few chapters. I'm holding my breath cheering for them in my brain, I mean it's almost at the end, there has to be a happy ending!

And then I finally get to the end, those last 4 words that form the last sentence of Opal and... and I swear my heart broke just a little. There were probably a few tears as well. I might have even said a few curse words ha ha! Talk about cliffhangers! Trust me July cannot get here fast enough!!!

But torturous cliffhangers aside, this book is yet again another amazing installment from the Lux Series. Aliens...who'd a thought? Obviously the brilliant mind of Jennifer L Armentrout! I really need to check out her other books. But I digress, back to this one.

I swear this book has one of my all time favorite scenes from this series, so far..it's just so..Kat and Daemon and I adore their banter:

I took a deep breath. "But if you two don't knock
it off, I'll kick both of your asses."
Now everyone was staring at me. "What?"
I demanded, cheeks flushing.

A slow, wry smile teased Daemon's lips.
"Simmer down, Kitten, before I have to get you a
ball of yarn to play with."

Annoyance flared deep inside me. "Don't
start with me, jerk-face."

I heart Daemon and Katy so very much :) And this is when they're in love, just think back to all the taunting and tension back from Obsidian and Onyx!

Anyway if I don't stop now I'll probably wind up posting the whole thing. Like I said major cliffhanger but seriously so worth it. Now to go twiddle my thumbs and count down the days til Origin.. *Sigh* :)
